She has managed various Data Administration and Data Architecture projects for the U.S. Information Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and U.S. Department of Defense. Suzanne is currently the Enterprise Data Architect for the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) and leads the Enterprise Data Architecture initiative. Suzanne is an active participant on the Federal Enterprise Architecture Data and Information Model (FEA DRM) Work Group, and a participating member of an ISO 11179 work group. She is also a member of DAMA. Suzanne Acar Peter Aiken - Virginia Commonwealth University Dr. Peter H. Aiken is an Associate Professor with Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Information Systems and is the Founding Director of Data Blueprint. Dr. Aiken previously held the position of Computer Scientist with Office of the CIO of the US Defense Information Systems Agency. He has consulted with organizations in dozens of countries helping them to do more with their data. Data problems are one of the key issues facing organizations as the pace of international commerce and cooperation increase around the world. Various initiatives from outsourcing, to "extreme" systems development, to business engineering increasingly rely on good quality data exchanges. Dr. Aiken's research methods, associates, and projects increase the effectiveness with which data assets are focused in support of organizational strategy. He has authored or co-authored six books and many other publications including XML for Data Management (2004 - Morgan Kaufmann). Ms. Atre is president of Atre Group, Inc., a consulting organization specializing in business intelligence, data warehousing, and database management systems. She is a member of the board of AtreNet,Inc., a web agency, in Santa Cruz, CA. Before heading her present companies, Ms. Atre was a partner with Price Waterhouse Coopers. During the fourteen years previous to that , Shaku held a wide variety of management and staff positions at IBM, including faculty member of the prestigious Systems Research Institute. Rich Ayuso - Founder, Windsail Technologies LLC Rich is currently consulting with Fortune 1000 companies and Federal Government Agencies on the execution and implementation of their Customer Relationship Management Information System strategies. She has worked with more than 40 warehouses with sizes up to 13 terabytes and specializes in performing data warehouse assessments at any point in the warehouse life cycle. She has been involved in planning, designing, performing design reviews, and/or implementing data warehouse environments in the chemical, pharmaceutical, insurance, banking, financial, credit card, oil refining, publishing, government, and hospital industries. She is the Lead Author of "Data Warehouse: Practical Advice From the Experts", which was published by Prentice-Hall in 1997 and contributed a chapter to "The Handbook of Data Management", published by Auerbach. She has developed and taught various data modeling, database, and data warehouse classes and started her own consulting/training firm in 1990. Lisa Black - Department of Energy Ms. Black has over 15 years of increasing experience in the programming, development, and management of computer software engineering projects. Currently she is performing business process analysis, system design and database design for an Intranet to be implemented for the Office of Science within the Department of Energy. Previously, she implemented the databases and front-ends for the NAVSEA Strategic Sealift Rate Model (SSRM), Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Fuel Supply Center (DFSC) Storage & Distribution (S&D) System and U.S. Army Concepts Analysis Agency (CAA) Global Deployment Analysis System (GDAS). These three systems are expert simulation models that are data driven and require extensive data relationships and design. Additionally, she developed procedures to download and normalize data from the mainframe DFAMS system into the S&D database. The four systems above included development and analysis using MS SQL, Paradox, Foxpro, and MODEL 204. Andrew Blumenthal - Coast Guard Andrew Blumenthal is Director of Enterprise Architecture and Strategic Planning at the United States Coast Guard. Previously, he served as Chief Enterprise Architect at the United States Secret Service. Blumenthal is an IT and business leader with 20 years of progressive experience at premier organizations in the public and private sectors, including The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, The U.S. Department of the Treasury, The Dreyfus Corporation, and IBM. Deborah L. Brooks - The MITRE Corporation Deborah Brooks is a Principal Information Systems Engineer with the MITRE Corporation (www.mitre.org). She has 25 years of data architecture and data management experience in the private sector, both in the U.S. and abroad, as well as with the U.S. government. Ms. Brooks was an early implementer of centralized Enterprise Data Management and has authored chapters in Auerbach Publications' Handbook of Data Management and High-Performance Web Databases. She has also published several articles in data management periodicals and has been a repeat speaker at International DB2 User's Group (IDUG) conferences. As former CIO of a financial services company, Ms. Brooks is experienced in all aspects of IT management, from strategic to operational, and was responsible for the development and implementation of a 3 terabyte Enterprise Data Warehouse. Jim Carpenter - Able And Willing International Education Foundation Jim is Treasurer and Chief Geek for Able And Willing International Education Foundation (http://AbleAndWilling.org), a private non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education and development in areas of the world where access to education is limited. The first project of Able and Willing was to build a school in southern Dem. Rep. of Congo while developing low-cost, bio-friendly construction methods and and organizing local participation. The school now has about 400 students in elementary through technical education, is entirely self-sufficient, and is training students who will build and staff more schools to be initially funded by Able and Willing. Jim has been traveling to the Congo since 2002 to set up a computer learning lab for the school and assist in other projects. Able and Willing has donated nearly 100 computers to schools in Africa and Latin America and makes presentations to various organizations in the U.S. Jim is the past president of DAMA-NCR. During his two year term as president, Jim introduced significant changes which have revived the spirit and finances of the chapter. In addition, he created the DAMA-NCR web site, which he still maintains, served on the Program Committee of the DAMA International 2000 conference, and co-chaired the Metatopia 2001 Symposium. Jim worked for the Bureau of Labor Statistics for nearly 30 years where he has evaluated a range of technologies for the bureau. His first assignment at BLS, as a mathematical statistician, was to help design the International Prices Survey. Jim has served as a member of the ANSI NCITS & ISO metadata standards groups, serving as co-editor of ISO 11179, Part 2. Jim served over three years on 3Com's "3Wizard Advisory Committee", a unique and varied international group of 12 opinionated technocrats who met in four marathon sessions each year to review 3Com's software and hardware development projects (including OS/2 and LAN Manager, the precursors to Microsoft NT). He served on the board of the Washington Statistical Society during the 70s and co-authored the first comparative review of statistical packages published in Byte Magazine and elsewhere. Jim earned an MS degree in Statistics from the University of Michigan and BS in Mathematics, from Indiana University. Jim Carpenter Rajan Chandras -- CSC Consulting Rajan Chandras is a consultant and practicing data architect with CSC Consulting. He has about 14 years of experience in the software and consulting industry, in areas of Technical Project Management, Application Architecture, Data Architecture, Development Team Leadership and Testing/Validation. He has published with the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) as well as with industry publications, and has presented at the annual worldwide CSC Technology & Business Solutions Conference. He has a M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Poona, India and M.S. in Information & Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Rajan Chandras David Colpitts -- Research and Program Management Group, LLC Over his twenty-five year career, David Colpitts has held leadership roles in numerous data management assignments in private companies as well as in government agencies. His consulting assignments have provided opportunities to observe examples of effective Data Governance, as well as situations where effective data sharing (and Data Governance) has seemed an elusive goal. Recently, he worked with the Enterprise Architecture planning office of the Department of Homeland Security (Customs). Later he supported the Data Governance initiative at the same agency. He has also worked with the award-winning Data Governance practice of Pinkerton Computer Consultants. He is the former Vice-President for Programs for the Data Administration Management Association (DAMA) Chapter in the National Capital Region (DAMA-NCR). David Colpitts Philip Cooper -- Kalido, Inc Before transferring to Kalido, Inc., Philip spent 4 years within Shell IT working in a number of areas including data warehouse consultancy, database design and business development. Philip was part of the Kalido consulting team working in Europe, Australia, and the US on several award-winning data warehouse projects. Today Philip plays the dual role of senior consultant and technology evangelist. Philip graduated with a Masters degree from Cambridge University, and he's also a supporting member of The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI). Art DeMaio -- Evoke Software Art DeMaio, Vice President Technical Sales Support for Evoke Software, has extensive functional experience with the implementation of data migration projects. DeMaio has held HR and Payroll management positions in the transportation, entertainment, and financial service industries. At CSX Financial Services, he was responsible for the technical implementation of PeopleSoftÍs HRMS product, and managed a staff of 23 people with a budget of $2 million annually. In addition to consolidating the data and processes from 3 distinct departments into one system, he supervised the movement of personnel and equipment into new facilities. Prior to working at CSX Financial Services, DeMaio was the Manager of HR Systems at Sea-Land Service (a subsidiary of CSX) and was accountable for all data used by Human Resources, which included, data maintenance, reporting, and systems integration. This position laid the foundation for the People Soft HRMS project. Prior to his career at CSX, DeMaio was an AVP and Director of payroll departments at Merrill Lynch and Sony Music and was responsible for the implementation of hierarchical systems from sequential systems for both organizations. These, and other similar experiences, have provided him with an understanding of the challenges organizations encounter when attempting to move their legacy data to new systems or to determine the current quality status of that data. Over his four years with Evoke, DeMaio has been involved in many different types of projects. He has been involved in the data analysis phases of Data Warehouse, Quality Assessment, ERP, Merger and Acquisition and Application Integration projects at many of Evoke SoftwareÍs customers. DeMaio brings a unique business view to these projects with the full understanding of the technological and methodological issues that may be encountered. Mike Douglass -- Sequoia Software Corporation For more than 15 years, Mike Douglass has been articulating technology-based opportunities for US Government organizations, including interactive computer graphics, geospatial information strategies, and knowledge management tools. Mike Douglass, Federal Sales Manager Connie Dowler - Stanley Associates Ms. Dowler has worked in the Information Technology field for such organizations as the National Weather Service, Hughes STX, and American Management Systems. Currently, she works for Stanley Associates on the Development team of the Information Management for the Office of Science project at the Department of Energy in Germantown, Maryland. She is in charge of database issues, spanning five separate projects; these issues include data conversions, data modeling, and data analysis Thomas R. Finneran - CIBER Custom Solutions Group Tom Finneran is a veteran information architect, consultant, and executive manager. He is a Principal Consultant at the CIBER Custom Solutions Group. He has developed various architecture and methodology approaches for a number of companies in a number of industries, including telecommunications, pharmaceutical, oil and chemical, banking, manufacturing, insurance, and government. He has been a business data analyst, Manager of Standards & Education, Manager of Data Administration, Manager of Corporate Data Strategy, Director of Management Information Systems, Managing Consultant, and Principal Consultant. Friedrich, II - JRFII, Incorporated Dr. Friedrich received his doctorate in High Energy Physics from the University of Texas, and has bee working in the computer field for over 15 years. He has managed many software development and data administration efforts for the Air Force Medical Support Agency, the OASD(HA) as Manager of the Health Information Resources Service Project, and in support of other Government and State Agencies. John is currently President and CEO of JRFII, Incorporated, which specializes in development of tools to support Data Administration efforts, to support development of World Wide Web Portals into corporate data, and support in applying these and other tools (notably from Meta-Integration Technologies• , Inc.) to problems involving movement of data and system integration. Ron Forino - DMR Consulting Group Ron has been in the industry for over 20 years as a technician, analyst, architect, project manager and director. An MBA in Information Management, Ron is Director of the Competency Center for Data Warehousing of DMR Consulting Group where he established the corporations Data Quality practice area. Rons recent work includes implementing corporate data quality programs for major financial institutions in the New Jersey area. He has also worked to establish Data Archeology, Knowledge Management and Architectural Methodologies in support of Data Warehousing initiatives. Ron is currently the Vice President of Marketing for DAMA-NJ. His other activities include being an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America. Director of Business Intelligence Jerome M. Garrett - U.S. Census Bureau Jerome Garrett is a graduate of Lincoln University with a B.A. in Mathematics. He has a Computer Specialist with the US. Census Bureau since 1985. During this time he has developed production systems in support of the Demographic, Decennial, Economic, Field and Information Technology directorates. Since 2000, Jerome has been the leader of the Metadata team of the Systems Support Division. In this capacity Jerome is charged with implementing a Corporate Metadata Repository to service all Census Bureau programs. Todd Goldman - Exeros Mr. Goldman comes to Exeros with over 15 years experience as a general
manager and marketing executive. Before joining Exeros, Mr. Goldman was
Vice President of Marketing for ScaleMP, a venture-funded company supplying
enterprise middleware software to OEM computer manufacturers. Previously,
he was Vice President and General Manager at America Online/Netscape where
he oversaw the company's Shop@AOL, Netscape Search, and Netscape Small
Business services. Mr. Goldman joined AOL as part of its acquisition of
Netscape where he was Director of Product Marketing for the Netscape Directory
and Security products. Before joining Netscape, he held various marketing
and management positions at Hewlett-Packard working on products such as
HP OpenView for Telecom and HP OpenMail/X.400. Todd has an M.B.A. from
the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a B.S.E.E. from Northwestern

Marcie Barkin Goodwin - Axis software designs Marcie Barkin Goodwin is the President/CEO of Axis software designs, a software training and consulting company specializing in modeling environments, their infrastructures, and the fostering of communication to ensure successful projects. Gorman Ted Griffin - Department of Energy Mr. Griffin has worked 26 years with the Department of Energy Headquarters supporting information management. For the first 23 years, he worked for the Chief Information Officer organization leading various functions such as computer services, computer center operations, telecommunications center operations, budget formulation and execution, personnel, general administration, computer security, DOE information management collaboration, helpdesk, and teleprocessing. For the last 3 years, he has been working for the Office of Science information management organization supporting their strategic planning and architecture function. Recently he became responsible for leading their operations, systems maintenance, and helpdesk functions as well. Seth Grimes - Alta Plana Corporation Seth Grimes is a principal of Alta Plana Corporation, a Washington-area consultancy specializing large-scale analytical computing systems. He also writes a decision-support column for Intelligent Enterprise magazine where he is a contributing editor. Mr. Grimes is expert in management and analysis of demographic, economic, and financial statistics and in information systems architectures, design, and development. He has built databases and Internet systems for leading governmental and private organizations. Mr. Grimes has created technology strategies and analyses covering application of analytical tools in customer relationship management (CRM), marketing automation, supply-chain management, time-series management & analysis, and Web data dissemination. Before that, as GM's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he led the strategy of using XML for system-to-system integration. Ron started his 23 years in information technology in Toronto as project manager at Travelers Insurance (Canada) in 1976. Graham Thompson - Delos Technology Prior to joining Delos Thompson held the position of vice president of sales with InCert Software Corporation, an enterprise application management provider, where he lead the company through a period of unprecedented growth, landing contracts with such blue-chip clients as Charles Schwab, Prudential, Vanguard, Pacific Bell and Fidelity. Earlier at InCert, he set up distribution channels in eight countries. Prior to that, in his capacity of vice president of marketing he led the company's development of TraceBack, InCert's agent-based product designed to maximize the availability of mission critical applications. Prior to InCert, Thompson was with Global Software, a Y2K vendor providing an inventory, detection and impact analysis tool targeted at the century date problem. While there, he more than quadrupled revenues, landing brand-name clients that included American Airlines, US Air, NASA, Morgan Stanley, and Lehman Brothers. As sales and marketing director, he positioned the company's Y2K product as an industry leader. Previously, Thompson was CEO of R&O: The Repository Company, a provider of client/server repository products and services.
