DAMA-NCR Adopts Sister Chapter in Canberra, Australia.

The DAMA NCR Board enthusiastically endorsed a proposal from the DAMA Canberra Chapter to form a sister chapter relationship.  The NCR board formed a committee to work with the Canberra chapter in designing the sister chapter program.  One idea being discussed is that of an exchange delegation selected via ballot from active members.   The chapters would subsidize the travel and the delegates would stay with local members.

The committee consists of current board members Judith Newton, Veena Bhatia, Pam Piper, and Jim Carpenter.  Interested persons should contact one of the committee members (see contact info on http://www.dama-ncr.org/BoD/Board.htm )

The idea was born from a recognition of the similarities between Washington, DC and Canberra, Australia -- including both being national capital cities and both being designed by an architect (the first by a man from France, the second by a man from USA).  To find out more about Canberra, visit http://www.canberratourism.com.au.   Also, visit the Canberra chapter's web site at  http://www.dama.org.au/canberra/Default.htm
